The Government Museum and Art Gallery was designed by the Swiss born French architect, Le Corbusier. After partition, the division of collections took place on April 10, 1948. Sixty percent of objects were retained by Pakistan and forty percent collection fell in the share of India. The museum was inaugurated on 6 May 1968 by Dr. M. S. Randhawa, the then Chief Commissioner of Chandigarh.

The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a sculpture garden. Today it is spread over an area of 40 acres. It is completely built of industrial and home waste and discarded items. It consists of man-made interlinked waterfalls and many other sculptures that have been made of scrap and other kinds of waste (bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical waste, broken pipes, etc.) which are placed in walled paths

Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills of the Himalayas.The lake was created by Le Corbusier and the Chief Engineer P L Verma. To preserve its tranquility, Corbusier insisted on two things: that it be forbidden for motor boats to circulate in the water, and for vehicular traffic to be prohibited on top of the dam.

Leisure Valley is a linear park structure around the city. It is over 8 km in length and is divided into a number of sub-divisions of smaller parks. Leisure Valley and all its sub-divisions were designed by the talented Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. Huge canopied and evergreen trees form the basic landscape here, along with small shrubs and flowers. The park is best suited for a relaxing stroll and horse riding activities.
