On the square in front of the Basilica on the edge of the sea, the Plaza de Patrona de Canarias, there are 9 colossal statues of Guanche (Aboriginal) chiefs along the sea wall.
The old town of Candelaria is pleasant and the main square has plenty of bars and nice shops. You can find some lovely wooden balconies typicals of Canarian architecture. There is also a nice promenade along the sea-front and a small harbour.
