In the town of Candelaria, we will stop to visit the famous Basilica with the Black Virgin which was inaugurated in 1959. And also in the square next to the basilica we will visit the statues of the ancient kings of the Guanches who also reside here next to the black lava beach and a small shopping street.
We will take a walk through the old capital La Laguna. Protected by world nature since 1999 (UNESCO). Here we visit the local farmers market where you can find a bit of everything, and in particular all the different Canarian potatoes.
We head to the famous laurel forest of Mercedes, and start at Cruz del Carmen for a very pleasant walk with 360º views. Here it is spring all year round and the surroundings are incredibly green. In addition, in the Anaga area we have time for a picnic with views of the city of Taganana.
