About this experience

Experience an epicurean adventure of the best Dubrovnik has to offer with a local expert. Dom will guide you in tasting locally produced olive oils, wines, and dishes at two of the top Dubrovnik restaurants (IG deliciousdubrovnik). No finger food or mass-produced products here. Dom is a PhD (student), winemaker and olive grower, with a passion for history.
Croatia and Dubrovnik offer enological and gastronomic products that have been recognized for their quality in the world's biggest competitions like Decanter in London (wine) and NYIOOC (olive oil). However, due to relatively limited production, sometimes they remain undetected by visitors.
You will enjoy not only the four most important wine varietals in the area paired with four dishes and a guided evaluation of two extra virgin olive oil but also the history and cultural context.
Feel the real Mediterranean experience while tasting the best things of the area and walking within Dubrovnik's monumental city walls.

Detailed itinerary

Stop 1 Pass by

While we are walking through the Old Town of Dubrovnik (also known as The Pearl of Adriatic), we will pass by all the major attractions, such as Revelin fort, Ploče gate, Lazareti, Franciscan monastery, Onofrio's fountain, Rupe museum, Farmers market and Jesuits stairs and Rector's Palace.
In the Old town, we are going to visit 4 family-run places. In the first one, there will be a guided evaluation of olive oil, where you are going to learn how to easily recognize the main characteristics of extra virgin olive oil (15 minutes). After that, we are going to two restaurants where we'll try 4 wines paired with four dishes (a total of 60 min). In the end, we are going to have dessert in the last place. In between, we are going to learn about the history of Dubrovnik and the historical-cultural context of food and wine on the tour.

Stop 2 Pass by

While passing by Large Onofrio's fountain we are going to talk about the peak time of the famous Dubrovnik Republic and biggest engineering projects of that time.

Stop 3 Pass by

While walking through off the beaten path parts of the Old City and enjoying the view of rooftops, we will pass by one of the best museums in Dubrovnik, the 16th-century granary of Dubrovnik.
