The tour will start with the visit of the panoramic sanctuary of the goddess Fortuna Primigenia at Palestrina. We will visit the panoramic terraces of the Sanctuary , in particular the splendid "antro delle sorti" or ""cave of the fate " where a child gave the fate to the worshippers.
The guide will lead you to explore the Archeological Museum of the Ancient Palestrina housed into the splendid Palazzo Barberini. The museum houses a remarkable collection of archaeological remains from the ancient Prenestae. The most important is the hellenistic Mosaic of the Nile opera of the great artist from Alexandria of Egypt.
We will visit the splendid Medieval village of Castel San Pietro Romano.
The village located on the Acropolis of the ancient Palestrina has beatiful stone houses and churches and a wonderfull panoramic view over the opposite valley . The most remakable monument is the Castle of the Colonna family. We will than have lunch at the restaurant Gasparri a genuine family run local restaurant that offers home made exquisite local dishes such as home made fettucine, roasted meat with French fries and fresh vegetables.
