Eco-friendly Fun Facts: Aruba’s Spanish Lagoon is officially shielded by the Directorate of
Nature & Environment under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands as a protected wetland.
Additionally, as of 2018, Fundacion Parke Nacional Arikok (the official foundation responsible
for the management of Arikok National Park) legally identified the Spanish Lagoon, Mangel
Halto and Santo Largo areas as being Marine Protected Areas (MPA) and thus officially
protected by law.
We will cycle next to the breathtaking Santo Largo Beach as we go to San Nicolas.
As we cycle through Savaneta we will see from afar a traditional local fisherman's pier, where they arrive with their local caught fish.
This will be a break stop and we will have a coffee/tea or refreshment of your choice in the Historic Nicolas Store also known as the Kulture Cafe, before we roam around the Art Murals. If you would like to have a meal at your own expense, it is possible. Kulture Cafe is known for their amazing all-day breakfast. Just let us know in advance so we can plan extra time for this tour.
