About this experience

This tour will give travelers the opportunity to explore interesting places at the Plateau of Lassithi, the area where Zeus was born according to the mythology. Climbed at 850meters above the sea level, the plain of Lasithi has the highest production of agricultural products in Crete. There are 18 villages built on the surrounding mountains of the plateau. Clients will admire a panoramic drive through the plateau, the Monastery of Vidiani, Lasinthos Eco Park and the traditional village of Krasi. Following, the participants will be guided in an Olive Mill Farm and see the production of olive soap, olive oil etc. and enjoy an unforgettable meal made from local products, at their own expense at the Olive Mill Farm, with unique aromas from the surrounding wild mountain and view to the Aegean Sea. Our day will end with a guided tour at the word wide famous Archaeological Site of Knossos, the capital of ancient Minoan civilization, the first in Europe.

Detailed itinerary

We will start collecting participants from pick-up points in the morning.
Depending on the place of your hotel/apartment the bus ride will differ.

A small, male monastery located at the foot of Louloudaki Mountain will be our first stop.

Bus Drive to Lasinthos eco park: 15'
We will visit Lasinthos eco park for about 1 hour.
An Eco Park, with ancient workshops such as pottery, candle making etc and a small animal farm (admission is free).
After that, we will have a small drive around the traditional villages of Lasithi Plateau.

Bus Drive to Krasi: 30 minutes.
We will visit the little traditional village Krasi with its beautiful freshwater springs and the oldest tree on Crete, for about 30'.
Enjoy our time in Cretan Nature!

Lunch & guided tour at an Olive Mill Farm (bus drive: 25 minutes).
There will be a big variety of traditional dishes made from local products of Crete (lunch is on your own expense), homemade wine and meats from the surrounding mountains.
After lunch there will be guided tour around the Olive Mill Farm about olive oil production, olive soaps, ceramics, honey etc.

Bus Drive from Lasithi to the Minoan Palace will take almost 1 hour, depending of traffic.

Stop 7

As soon as we arrive, our participants will enter the Archaeological Site with our Representative in order to attend a Guided Tour for about 1 hour and then enjoy some free time to take photos and admire the historic Minoan place.
ENTRANCE FEE: 15€

Embarkation in the buses and drive back to the hotels where we gathered participants in the morning.
Depending on traffic and on the pick-up places of each one, the time of journey back to the hotel will differ.
