The reservoir is an artificial reservoir created in 1984. The reservoir is located 40 km from Tbilisi in the Dusheti region, on the Aragvi River.
The Zhinvali reservoir is hidden away from human eyes, it is surrounded by picturesque mountains, which are reflected together with the sky from its beautiful water surface. At the moment, the Zhinvali reservoir performs two functions: it generates electricity and supplies the city of Tbilisi with water.

Ananuri Castle is a large, well-preserved castle on the banks of the Zhinvali reservoir. It stands right on the Georgian Military Highway, about 70 kilometers from Tbilisi. This is one of the most famous castles in Georgia, which once belonged to the Aragvi rulers. There are many interesting stories and legends associated with this place, which we will be happy to tell you about.

We will stop at Friendship Arch, located on the Georgian Military Highway between the Gudauri ski resort and the Cross Pass. The monument is the inspiration of the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, it was built at a height of 2384 meters! Here you will have a view of the famous gorge called "Devil's Valley".
