Wat Chalong, officially known as Wat Chaiyathararam, is Phuket's largest and most revered Buddhist temple. Established in the early 19th century, it honors esteemed monks Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, renowned for aiding locals during the 1876 tin miners' rebellion with their herbal medicine expertise. The temple's centerpiece is a 60-meter-tall chedi housing a fragment of Lord Buddha's bone, adorned with intricate paintings depicting his life. Visitors can explore multiple levels of the chedi, culminating in panoramic views of the temple grounds from the top terrace.
