About this experience

With this tour you will be able to get to know the essence of Tenerife in one day.

We will start the day by visiting the coastal town of Candelaria, where the Basilica of Candelaria is located, one of the most important places of worship in Tenerife.

The excursion continues in La Orotava. Here we will explore places full of charm and culture such as La Casa de Los Balcones or the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

We will continue our trip in Garachico, a town whose history is marked by a volcanic eruption in 1706. We will walk through its historic center and visit such emblematic places as the natural pools of El Caletón or the Castillo de San Miguel. Here you will have free time to have lunch on your own or taste Canarian cuisine in one of the restaurants that we recommend.

After this visit, we will enter the Teno Rural Park. Its winding roads will take us to Masca, a hamlet surrounded by spectacular cliffs that preserves its traditional Canarian architecture.

Detailed itinerary

1

Once the pick-ups are finished, you will leave the hotel zone behind, heading for Villa de Candelaria. There you can visit its basilica, inside which is the Virgen de Candelaria (or Virgen Morenita), who is the patron saint of the Canary Islands.

You will also be surprised by the imposing bronze statues that commemorate the ancient menceyes (Guanche kings) of Tenerife, and which constitute a national monument.

2

The excursion continues to the north of the island, where you will take a walking route through the Historic-Artistic Site of Villa de La Orotava.

Its streets full of history and beauty will take you to La Casa de Los Balcones, one of the most representative buildings in La Orotava and a center for embroidery and fretwork of typical Canarian costumes.

3

We will continue with the visit to Garachico, included in 2021 in the list of "MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN SPAIN" a town that after being partially destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1706 was later rebuilt.

It currently has a rich architectural heritage from the 16th and 17th centuries that is very well preserved, which is why its historic center was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1994.

You will have free time to have lunch on your own or enjoy the local cuisine in one of the restaurants that we recommend.
