Detailed itinerary

1

Discover the art of olive oil production on a tour of a traditional Spanish olive oil mill near Barcelona. Learn about the olive oil process from its origin to its final product. Meet a typical Catalan family of olive oil producers who will lead the tour and the tasting. Taste different olive oils on their own, with bread, and other exciting food pairings. Learn about the different olive oil varieties and the olive trees that produce them.

2

Only 15 minutes from the olive oil mill, and we arrive at this small winery in Penedés, the region famous for its Cava. The winemaker, who belongs to a family of farmers for generations, will show you the old vineyards of autochthonous grapes and the ancestral methods he uses to produce the wine. After a short tour, you will taste four fantastic wines, from Sparkling to reds, and have a delicious lunch sitting outdoors, next to the old vineyards. The lunch includes fresh Catalan dishes like the famous "pà i tomàquet" (bread, tomato, and olive oil), anchovies, Catalan savory flatbread (the Catalan version of focaccia), a charcuterie selection, and a cheese platter.

Stop 3

On our way to Tarragona, we will stop to see and take pictures of a Roman Aqueduct from the first century BC. Built at the time when Ceaser Augustus came to Tarraco (today's Tarragona). Your guide will give you all the information and a good introduction to some real Roman engineering.

4

Finally, in Tarragona, you will travel back in time to explore the most iconic Roman ruins in Catalonia. Imagine the atmosphere where gladiators once fought by the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, and wander through the remarkably preserved corridors of the Roman Circus, where horse racers once competed for glory and honor. Afterward, enjoy a gentle stroll through the medieval old town, where ancient relics still hide in every corner. It is a true delight for history enthusiasts and a beautiful way to crown your journey through the region.
