We will begin the tour by strolling through the narrow alleys of the Born neighborhood. Some of the monuments we will see are the Born, a former market, the Saint Marie of the Sea church, and the Arc de Triomf. Your guide will provide you with many historical facts and other legends to entertain you along the way.
Vivinos is a cozy bar hidden from the usual tourist crowds. Here, we’ll pause to enjoy two carefully selected wines from the Penedès region: a white from local grapes and a Gran Reserva cava. Each glass will be introduced and explained by a knowledgeable sommelier, bringing the region’s flavors and stories to life.
A second walking tour will be necessary to approach the second bar. Visiting some of the most iconic monuments from the Gothic Quarter, like the Cathedral, the town hall, and the hidden square of Sant Felip Neri.
Our second stop is an old tavern nestled in the historic Jewish quarter of El Call. Here, we'll taste a rich DOQ Priorat wine, served at one bottle per three guests, paired with a selection of local cheeses. There will be plenty of wine to finish the tour on a high note—and if you’d like, you are welcome to stay on to enjoy some excellent tapas.
I will be waiting outside the main entrance of El Born Center for Culture and Memory, right next to the big Catalan Flag.
