About this experience

Enjoy the unique landscape of the only nature reserve with direct access to La Fortuna Waterfall.

Embrace your inner jungle explorer by venturing into the lush rainforest around Arenal Volcano on an exhilarating horseback ride from La Fortuna. 

There you will ride for around 45 minutes to get to Pino Blanco Lookout, where you will leave the horse to start a hike for around 20 minutes going down 500 steps to arrive at the majestic La Fortuna Waterfall.

Once there, you will have about 40 minutes to swing, take pictures, or just relax. After that, we will go back, and at the end, you will enjoy some fruits.

Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

You will start horseback riding, then you will arrive at the Pino Blanco waterfall, where you can leave the horses and begin to walk down until you reach the waterfall. While we walk down to the waterfall, a collaborator will give water and feed to the horses, and you will be given approximately 1 hour to bathe and drink water, then you will go up to the point where you left the horses. Finally, visit on foot the butterfly and frog farm.

Note: You will have the option of swimming in the waterfall if the weather conditions permit.
