This tour includes everything you need to enjoy a fantastic experience in the spectacular Karangahake Gorge, between Paeroa and Waihi in New Zealand. You'll be provided with premium quality ebikes that are custom fitted to your needs before your ride. Lunch and morning afternoon teas include a mix of home baked goods and healthy snacks. All transport to and from the trail is provided in a comfortable modern air-conditioned shuttle van with your experienced guide at the wheel.

Detailed itinerary

Pickup in air-conditioned shuttle van from Auckland location.

Travel through the scenic farm countryside of the Waikato region to Waikino.

Wander around the historic gold processing equipment and take a tour to the underground kilns used for gold ore processing. Lunch is also served in the domain like grounds beside the river in Waikino

Ride the second section of the Karangahake Gorge from Waikino to Waihi and back again (14km each way). This section of trail is steeped in history from the Gold rush days and has masses of interesting features and scenic sights along the way.

Your R&R support wagon will be strategically positioned along the way for refreshments and a bite of lunch at one of the many stunning rest points on this trail.

For some added site seeing there is a 45 minute historic train ride available from Waikino to Waihi most weekend days, and also an interesting walk around the Waihi Mine pit to add to your riding adventure.
