About this experience

Get ready for a boat ride that's less about buried treasure and more about living treasure! We're heading out onto the Luminous Lagoon, a place where the water comes alive after dark. Forget your average sunset cruise, because as the stars pop out, something truly magical happens beneath the surface.
Millions of tiny little critters, called dinoflagellates (say that five times fast!), live in these waters where the Martha Brae River meets the Caribbean Sea. And guess what? When they get jostled – like by our boat or, even better, you splashing around – they light up! We're talking an eerie, shimmering, electric blue-green glow that looks like something straight out of a fantasy movie.
As we cruise along, you'll see the wake of our boat leave a sparkling trail. Toss a bit of water, and watch it erupt in a burst of light. And for the truly adventurous, you can even hop in for a swim and become a glowing wonder yourself!

On arrival at the Lagoon, travelers will be greeted by a well trained and courteous staff member, a complimentary drink will be offered before boarding the boat. The captain will then embark on a 5 minute boat ride while explaining the phenomenon of the Lagoon. As soon as he finds a suitable spot, he will anchor the boat and allow travelers to swim around for a few minutes, after which he will return to the dock and travelers can exit the boat.
