The museum occupies 3 main buildings surrounding the Piazza del Campidoglio on Capitoline Hill: Palazzo Senatorio, Palazzo dei Conservatori and Palazzo Nuovo. Each building houses vast collections of ancient art and architectural monuments from the Roman Empire, including artefacts from ancient Greece and Egypt.
