Private tour of the Colosseum with our Expert Guide and uncover almost 2,000 years of Roman history and cultural heritage. Visit the first and second order of the Colosseum, walk along the original stone pathways, and imagine the excitement of the spectators as they entered the world’s largest amphitheater. The first and second level offer a close-up view of the arena floor, so you can visualize the grandeur of the gladiatorial games, animal hunts, and other spectacular events that once captivated the crowds in the Colosseum. Our guide will share intriguing anecdotes and lesser-known facts about the cultural and political significance of these events and lives of the gladiators, and will show you the best spots for memorable pictures with the icon of Rome.
The Roman Forum (Forum Romanum) was the center of day-to-day life in ancient Rome. Almost 2,000 years later, you can explore this vast excavated area of Roman temples, squares and government buildings to learn about the political, religious and social life of the Roman Empire. Your Private Guide will also show you the archeological site on the Palatine Hill, which has been called "the first nucleus of the Roman Empire.” Here, you will hear the legend of Romulus and Remus, the brothers who founded Rome, and find ruins of imperial palaces created for high Roman society. Highlights include the Domus Flavia, House of Livia, House of Augustus and Farnese Gardens.
