About this experience

A 2-day private journey from Athens to the picturesque town of Kalavryta. Begin with a stop at the Corinth Canal, a stunning engineering marvel. Continue to Diakopto, where you board the Odontotos Rack Railway, traveling through the breathtaking Vouraikos Gorge and the slopes of Mount Helmos. In Kalavryta, visit the Municipal Museum of the Kalavryta Holocaust, which recounts the tragic events of WWII, and the Monument to the Victims of the Nazi Massacre. As we cross the Isthmus, we stop to see the great feat of engineering that finally opened the route between the Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf - the Corinth Canal. It was finished in 1893, even though the idea existed at least as far back as 602 BC!

Experience one of Greece’s most scenic train rides aboard the Odontotos Rack Railway, a historic and picturesque journey through the stunning landscapes of the Vouraikos Gorge.
