About this experience

For this 3 to 4 hour hike you will need a waterproof coat and trousers, hat,
gloves, walking boots, lunch & water (2L), warm clothing, face mask, hand sanitizer and a rucksack to carry it all in. This route is on track & mixed terrain which can be wet, boggy, and slippery in places.

This authentic hiking experience will provide a fascinating insight into this unique and primeval landscape of an Irish bog or peatland. As we journey through time, we will explore how the bog (or peatland) was formed, its myths and legends, an ancient monastic site and traditional turf cutting. We will also look at the unique biodiversity of the bog and its role in the fight against climate change. In addition we will also see green energy in action as we ramble through this dramatic landscape. Enjoy panoramic views of the Wild Atlantic Way of Inishowen and West Donegal.
