On this kayak water trail located on the outskirts of New Orleans, we will meander through this ecosystem bayou where we will meet up with wildlife, including gators, turtles, birds and fish while heading towards Lake Pontchartrain. We will travel through three different terrains: a pine forest, cypress swamp, salt marsh into Lake Pontchartrain. Once we are at the opening of Lake Pontchartrain, if the tide is low and the waters are calm, we can wade in the waters or take a break with lunch, snacks and water and talk about the area and the wildlife.
