Kalkan: Day Trip to Demre, Myra and Kekova Island

Kalkan is a town that boasts a variety of attractions, from its bustling center and unique shops to its breathtaking sunsets and stunning views of the coast. With our tour, you can conveniently explore sights beyond the town's limits. Our morning transfer service will pick you up from a designated point in Kalkan and take you on a memorable journey.

We will meet at Demre harbor where you will board the boat for your journey to Kekova. Once the anchor is lifted, we will begin our voyage.

Embark on a one-of-a-kind journey around the Sunken City of Kekova to uncover its intriguing history. The city of Dolchiste, which dates back to ancient times, was submerged by an earthquake in the 2nd century. The remains of this underwater city are truly captivating and leave a lasting impression on all who explore them.

As this area is under protection, swimming is not allowed. However, you can still explore the site by taking a ride on our boat. This way, you can admire the ruins and take some unforgettable photos.

We will be anchoring our boat at Kaleköy port, also known as ancient Simena, for an hour.

You can take some time to explore this charming, traditional village that boasts castle ruins and a necropolis.

Climbing up the hillside provides breathtaking views of the Kekova region. Alternatively, if you prefer to appreciate Simena Castle from below, you can spend the remaining time dipping in the stunning blue waters.

It's time for a lunch and swim break at the stunning Esmeralda Bay. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind during our exciting adventure.

Take a dip in the cool waters of Burç Bay, where natural springs create a peaceful ambiance that will soothe your senses.

Make a stop at Gökkaya Bay to swim and witness the breathtaking natural beauty of the area. You can also choose to try out one of the thrilling water sports available.

After your fascinating trip on the water, our boat will drop anchor in Demre port, where your tour continues with a visit to a nearby museum.

During this stop, there are two main highlights that you can explore at your own pace. Firstly, there is a Roman-style theatre which happens to be the largest in Lycia. Secondly, there are eerie rock-cut tombs that have been carved into the cliffs above. You'll have plenty of time to explore both of these fascinating attractions.

Explore the remnants of a former church to transport yourself back in time to the days when the ancient city of Myra existed.

Our tour continues with a visit to the Santa Claus Museum located in the center of Demre town. This intriguing archaeological building, which was originally constructed in 520 A.D., served as a church in honor of St. Nicholas of Myra - a patron saint from the 4th century.
