Detailed itinerary

1

Once you have settled into your hotel in the beautiful Olympos, you can begin to prepare for your tour of Kekova and Demre.

2

Be ready and waiting for our team to pick you up from your chosen meeting point in Olympos.* Our comfortable 14-seater vehicle will transfer you to Demre harbour where the boat sets sail to Kekova at around 10.30-10.45 am.

3

Discover the fascinating secrets of Kekova’s history on this unique adventure around the Sunken City. The ancient city of Dolchiste was flooded due to an earthquake in the 2nd century, and its resulting underwater ruins never fail to leave an impression.

4
Stop 4

Since this is a protected area, swimming is not permitted here, so what better way to explore the site than by cruising alongside the ruins on our boat, giving you a chance to capture unforgettable photos.

5

Our boat will drop anchor in Kaleköy port (ancient Simena) for one hour, giving you time to visit this small authentic village which is home to castle ruins and a necropolis. A hike up the hillside will provide you with magnificent views of the Kekova region. If you’d prefer to admire Simena Castle from down below, you can use your remaining time to take another dip in the gorgeous blue waters.

3 out of the 7 known sea turtle species can be found in the Mediterranean Sea. At Karemlik Bay, you’ll have the chance to look for these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Your chance to discover Demre’s most famous archeological site! A true step back in history as you observe some of Myra’s most significant ancient ruins dating as far back as the 5th century B.C.

11
Stop 11

There is plenty of time to explore the two highlights of this stop: a Roman-style theatre (the largest in Lycia!) and eerie rock-cut tombs carved into the cliffs above.

12
Stop 12

Our tour continues with the Santa Claus Museum in Demre town centre. Initially built in 520 A.D., this interesting archaeological building started its operation as a church, built in memory of St. Nicholas of Myra, a 4th-century patron saint. Here, you can explore the remains of this former church, taking yourself back in time to when the ancient city of Myra still existed.

13

After a full day of refreshment, recreation, nature, and history, the tour ends by taking you back to your hotel in Olympos, leaving you to relax and unwind. With so many memorable stops, which do you think will be your favourite?
