The hike between Ksar Hadada and Ghomrassen is relatively short but with an exceptional density of sites!
On these 8 km you will cross all the periods of history:
In the very distant future we will visit the slave quarter in the city Mos Espa in the planet Tatooine as imagined in the SAGA "star Wars" then we delve into ancient geological ages to track down the footprints of dinosaurs engraved on the rocks, then we return to the present to visit Ghomrassen, a charming town nestled in the relief, and taste its world famous traditional pastries, before returning to prehistoric times to decipher the cave paintings dating back 5000 years.
We go around the Ksar where the scenes of the STAR WARS saga were shot in 1997, supposed to take place in Mos Espa, in the slave quarters where Anakin Skywalker and his mother reside.
The Beni Ghedir valley is the perfect example of agricultural activity and territorial development in the arid climate of DAHAR.
We visit a Ksar occupying the central hill was founded at the end of the 19th century and has 42 Ghorfas and a discreet citadel sat on the summit fulfilling the role of a control tower above dozens of troglodyte houses, and right next to the multiple Footprints of herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs have been discovered engraved on a limestone slab dating from the Middle Jurassic.
We take advantage of our passage through the city center of Ghomrassen to taste traditional pastries and fried donuts, a local specialty passed down from one generation to another for several centuries.
Our hike ends at Insefri, a mountain oasis where we will discover prehistoric cave paintings dating back more than 5000 years and describing the fauna and daily life of the people who lived at that time.
