Well with this tour you are sure to get it! This tour will starting in Mindelo, S. Vicente and will have you explore this charming town. Here you will learn about the culture and history through our guided tour guides and attractions. You will also have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of those preparing for carnival in the evening. After exploring the town of Mindelo, we will take the ferry and set for an adventure in the neighbour island Santo Antão. This luscious island is every hiker and nature lover's paradise. We will explore the island highlights before enjoying a nice lunch (included with the tour). After which we will head back to the ferry point to get a ferry back to Mindelo where we will enjoy a good vantage point of the carnival parades and dance the night away!

Detailed itinerary

On this day we take you on a mini tour of Mindelo, the city with the best carnival! Here you will be able to see groups preparing for the big evening event alongside how the town looks without the crowds of people.

We will meet infront of the Café Royal Suites, Mindelo before walking to the Palácio do Povo (People's palace), formerly known as the Palácio do Governo (Government's palace). It is now a public building in the city centre of Mindelo in Cape Verde with it's attractive bright pink colour, its hard to miss! It is situated at the eastern end of Rua Libertadores de África and was built in 1874, when there were plans to move the capital of Cape Verde to Mindelo.

Our next destination is a 5 minute walk and is a replica of the one in Lisbon, Torre de Belem. This monument once housed the harbor master's office. The building was restored by the Portuguese government in 2002.

Here you will be able to enter the tower and adjacent museum.

We will walk down to the beach front and stop by Laginha beach, one of the islands most beautiful and popular beaches where we will relax and wait for the ferry.

We will take a 1 hour ferry ride to the neighbouring island Santo Antao.

This Island boasts of lush green mountain peaks, valleys, charming villages, vegetation, with the hardworking spirit, and simplicity of the people and culture which cannot truly be justified by words, but must be taken when you visit!

We will have hours to explore this new islands seeing some of it's highlights including;
Old Road
Cova-Krater
Pico da Cruz
Ribeira Grande
Ribeira de Torre
and more!

Be sure to bring your hiking boots and camera, the landscape here is phenomenal.

After the ferry back to mindelo, we will walk to our Suite in Café Royal where we will have the best view of the carnival parades. Street views are also optional. Our tour will end here where we can party the night away!
