At 8:30am, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby in Chongqing downtown.
Then you will head to Hechuan by private vehicle for about 1.5 hours 75km. Upon arrival, you will visit the famous Diaoyucheng, named Fishing City, which was established in 1242AD in Southern Song Dynasty. The Fishing City is famous for its resistance to the Mongol armies in 1259AD and lauded as the "Mecca of the East" and "Where God broke his whip" by some European historians. Diaoyu Castle is located on a precipitous perch overlooking the old city and historical remains from ancient battle fields.The fishing city’s main attractions include the gates, city wall, imperial palace, Wushu yamen, step barracks, and water army wharf etc. There are also Diaoyutai, Baoguo Temple, Hanging Buddha Temple, Thousand Buddha Grottoes, Emperor Cave, Tianquan Cave, Cornices Cave and other scenic sites here. The battle of the fishing city that happened here had changed the world pattern as per some historians.
You will enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, transferred to Laitan Old Town, which is the concentration of the authentic house paintings combined with the well-preserved traditional Chinese lifestyle here. The main attractions are two Buddha Temple, Wenchang Palace, and Laitan Wengcheng. There are more than 1,700 Buddhist sculptures displayed in Laitan Temple. The main statue of Sakyamuni Buddha is 12.5 meters in height in the temple, which is recognized as one of the famous giant Buddha statues in China.
