About this experience

Changsha is the capital of Hunan Province in China. This private day tour will let you explore Changsha city including Dufu River Pavilion, Baisha Old Well, Tianxian Pavilion, Kaifu Temple, and Jinggang Ancient Town with your local guide in about 8 hours. You will learn the history and culture about Changsha by visiting those old attractions, and you will taste the local Hunan style food for lunch as well. Detailed itinerary

At 8:30am, you will be picked up by your tour guide from hotel lobby of centrally located Changsha hotel, then start this day tour around Changsha. You will visit Dufu River Pavilion firstly. Built in memory of Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu, it is a 7-storey building by the Xiang River in Changsha. It is a nice place to get a bird view while climbing to the top.

Then you will head to Baisha Old Well, which is renowned for the good quality of the well water since ancient time. There are old buildings around the well to display the long history of the well. Local people like coming here to get water, so it is a wonderful place to view the authentic local lifestyle.

Tianxin Pavilion is located in the city center of Changsha. It includes Tianxin Ancient Pavilion and the Ancient City Wall as the main attractions. Since the Ming Dynasty (1368 ~ 1398), Qiu Guang, commanding officer of Changsha City, built the ancient city wall of Tianxin Pavilion. Nowadays it is a historical attraction to learn the ancient history here about Changsha.

Then you will visit Kai Fu Temple, which was firstly in 927AD, and had been restored many times in the history. As a typical Chinese Buddhism temple, there are praying halls, dormitory, canteen, sutra library, and teaching halls etc.

Then, you will head to Jinggang Old Town, which has a history more than one thousand years. There are well-preserved old housed, lanes, temples, and shops in the town. It is nice to walk around and visit the temple, museums, old houses here.
Afterwards, you will be transferred back to your Changsha hotel where the day tour concludes.
