You will come across book binders, iron smiths, gold smiths, roadside barbers and dentists. You’ll soak in the colours and the smells and see that traditional craftsmanship and ways of living still exist.
There will be a short tea break where we will enjoy “Masala-Chai” and some freshly cooked hot snacks. Later, we go down alleyways to find a wondrous assortment of incense and candles, wall decorative strings, natural perfume and herbal henna shops, then on to all the colours of a wedding goods bazaar where couples haggle over the price of Saris and jewellery.
We will also visit a small factory where confectioners make curd, cheese and sweets from milk, where we can enjoy the taste of freshly cooked sweets. Then you will be guided through the spice bazaar, flower market, followed by the vegetable and fruit markets. There you’ll be intoxicated by the scents of spices such as cardamom, clove or cumin and the sweet fragrances of rose, jasmine and magnolia.
