HUMPBACK WHALES IN SAMANA BAY:
You often ask us which activity is a must during a stay in the Dominican Republic.
In turn, we ask you: When will you see humpback whales again?
If you plan to visit between January 15 and April 15, we invite you to see these incredible mammals as they pass through the north of the island.
On this excursion, you'll discover why this animal, weighing more than 20 times as much as a car, migrates to Samana Bay...
We organize this excursion in small groups and in English.
Pickup included
Departure is around 7:00 am, arriving at Miches pier around 9:30 am. At the pier, breakfast will be served.
After breakfast, it's time to set sail to observe the humpback whales for 2 hours to 3h30.
On some outings, the whales are very playful and offer us a show with all the tricks right from the start. In this case, after 2 hours of observation, when you've enjoyed the show, we head back to port.
Sometimes the whales are shy and it takes a little longer to find a spot in the bay where you can observe them. In this case, our service provider will extend the time at sea so you can see these incredible mammals before returning to port.
Back at the port of Miches, you'll stop for lunch at a small local restaurant. On the menu: a delicious, typically Dominican meal.

After lunch, we'll take the bus again for a 20/25-minute ride to Montana Redonda.
Once you've reached the foot of the mountain, you'll board off-road trucks to reach the summit, where you'll enjoy a magical view of the bay on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.
There, you'll be able to take magnificent photos on the swings that give you the impression of flying through the Dominican sky. Sensations guaranteed!
Then, after all these wonderful discoveries, you'll take the off-road truck back down to the foot of the mountain. Once again, get ready to take some magnificent photos of the breathtaking view over the verdant countryside.
After this extra dose of excitement, your transport will be waiting for you at the bottom of the mountain to take you back to your hotel.
You'll be back at your hotel by 17:00.
