Detailed itinerary

1

The tour guide will pick you up at most hotels in central Tokyo. If your hotel is not listed, please let us know, and we might still be able to arrange a pick-up.

After being picked up from your hotel in central Tokyo, you'll embark on an exciting ride on Japan's high-speed Shinkansen, also known as the Bullet Train, from Tokyo Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. On a clear day, you might catch a stunning view of Mt. Fuji through the train windows, making the experience even more memorable.

2

The city of Atami is a well-known beach and hot spring resort located in Shizuoka Prefecture. After arriving at Atami Station, we will take a local bus to the famous MOA Museum of Art. Perched on a hilltop, the museum offers breathtaking views of Sagami Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

The MOA Museum of Art, opened in 1982, is renowned for its impressive collection of traditional Japanese and East Asian art, including National Treasures such as Red and White Plum Blossoms by Ogata Kōrin and works by renowned artists like Sesson Shukei and Tawaraya Sōtatsu. The museum also features a reconstructed teahouse designed by the legendary tea master Sen no Rikyū, a Noh theater, and beautifully landscaped Japanese gardens. Its elegant modern architecture, spacious galleries, and panoramic coastal views make it one of the cultural highlights of the region.

3

You’ll also have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful Japanese-style gardens located just outside the museum. These serene gardens showcase seasonal beauty—cherry blossoms, azaleas, and wisteria in spring, and vibrant autumn foliage in the fall. For a deeper cultural experience, you can enjoy a traditional Japanese-style lunch or a cup of tea at one of the garden teahouses. (Please note: lunch and drinks are optional and not included in the tour price.)

4

Before catching the return bullet train to Tokyo, we can enjoy strolling through downtown Atami, where many souvenir shops and local restaurants are located.

5

Finally, we will catch the bullet train departing Atami Station at 2:00 pm and enjoy another pleasant Shinkansen ride back to Tokyo. Let’s make the most of this comfortable, high-speed, high-tech train journey! After getting off the train, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.
