From Hvolsvöllur it is a 2.5 hour drive to Landmannalaugar we will drive around the volcano Hekla on our way to Landmannahellir and then continue to Landmannalaugar, here we can hike around the area, you can go to the geothermal pool if you bring a swimsuit and towel. On the way back we will stop at Hnausa pollur and Þjófafoss.
The waterfall Þjófafoss is part of the Þjórsá river that stretches from the Icelandic Highland all the way to the south shore in the Southern Region in Iceland. Here we will stop and take a look at this beautiful waterfall. This is a good place to take pictures and rest.
Short stop at the cave Landmannahellir, here will we enter the cave and you can take pictures of the area. Landmannahellir has for many years been one of the main dwelling place for sheep gatherers when they round up the sheep each autumn that have been grassing in this area during the summer.
