Detailed itinerary

1

Immersed in the centuries-old olive trees of Montalbano, in a landscape almost unchanged over time, the Birthplace of
Anchiano is the symbolic place of Leonardo da Vinci’s bond with his city. In this simple dwelling of
countryside, about 3 kilometers from the village of Vinci, Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452. The first stop will be in front of the Birthplace where we can take unforgettable photos and admire the Sweet Hills of the great Genius

2

In this unmissable stop we will discover the village of Vinci, famous for the Leonardian Museum (Vitruvian Man) housed in the Palazzina Uzielli and the Castle of the Guidi Counts. The Leonardo Museum is the oldest collection of Leonardo models entirely dedicated to the work of Leonardo scientist, technologist and engineer.
From studies on flight to those on motion in water, from war machines to optics experiments, to
to textile machines, the vastness of the Genius’ interests is documented in the museum that also houses the original Leonardo and Anatomy section on Leonardo’s studies of the human body.
The terrace of the Castello dei Conti Guidi concludes the tour with a breathtaking view of Montalbano, which was a source of great inspiration for Leonardo. At the end of the visit of the old town we can enjoy a good homemade ice cream and / or a drink.

3

Just 5 km from the village of Vinci, in a dominant position in the heart of the medieval village of Cerreto Guidi, in a land of ancient Renaissance traditions, stands the fascinating Medici Villa, a UNESCO heritage site, the Villa that has inextricably linked its history to Cosimo and Isabella de 'Medici who died here.

4

We will continue our journey along the gentle hills of Leonardo to reach the panoramic point from which to admire the bodies of water of the natural oasis of Padule di Fucecchio., the largest Italian swamp. It will be a perfect opportunity to take unforgettable photos.

5

We will cross the streets of the historic center of San Miniato admiring the medieval city, dominated by the Rocca di Federico II that stands on top of the hill, and made famous by the most prized product of its territory, the white truffle, the absolute protagonist of the Market Exhibition that attracts thousands of visitors every year. We will end our tour with typical local tastings.
