Cappadocia Devrent Hayal Vadisi, whose name means "deep pit and abyss", resembles a fairy tale land. Devrent, a unique place to watch the rising moon at night, has a structure reminiscent of a "U" shape.

The Seljuks used the word "Evenöz" for Avanos, meaning a town that makes pottery. Over time, its name changed and it began to be known as Avanos. Cappadocia Pottery making is one of the oldest handicrafts.

Bağlıdere Valley, also known as Love Valley, is a 4900 meter long valley that starts from Örencik on the Göreme-Uçhisar road and ends on the Göreme-Avanos road. The valley is quite suitable for walking. The vegetation and fairy chimneys in the valley are worth seeing.
