About this experience

There are countless archaeological sites that house Inca ruins and small Andean villages that keep alive the ancient traditions inherited from their ancestors.
In this sense, here we highlight two tours that cannot be left out of your travel itinerary for Peru: the Moray Archaeological Site and the incredible Maras Salt Mines.
These two places are located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and can usually be visited in a single day.
They are perfect examples of Inca wisdom and engineering, in addition to harmonizing with the exuberant nature of the region, making for a complete and interesting tour for any type of tourist.

Detailed itinerary

7:30am – 8am | Departure from the hotel.
We will pick you up at your accommodation, where our guide will give a brief explanation about the tour and provide a box lunch for each passenger.

8:00 – 9:15 | Cusco to Moray.
We will travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, observing the stunning natural landscapes of the region.

9:30am – 10:30am | Moray Archaeological Site.
Our first stop will be at the Moray Archaeological Site, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory.

10:30am – 11am | Maras City.
The tour continues towards the city of Maras, which enchants with features that combine the Inca and colonial eras.

11am – 12pm | Salineras de Maras.
Our team will then take you to the Salineras de Maras, where there are more than 3,000 salt mines.

12:00 – 13:00 | Lunch break.

After a full day of history and adventure, we will take a short break for lunch, to rest and taste the delights of typical Peruvian cuisine.

1:00 PM – 1:30 PM | Maras to Chinchero.

On the way back to Cusco, we will stop at a Textile Center in Chinchero to learn about the traditional weaving process, as well as the extraction of alpaca wool, and much more. We will then have the privilege of having a view of the ancient Chinchero Archaeological Site.

The day's tour ends with the transfer back to Cusco. Drop-off will be at your accommodation or at the Plaza de Armas, if requested.
