About this experience

The Tonnarella di Camogli, located within the Portofino Marine Protected Area, was the last active one in the Mediterranean, and ceased its activity two years ago. Participants in this boat excursion, guided by the explanations of a guide, will be able to relive a unique experience sailing within the Golfo Paradiso and the Portofino Marine Protected Area, discovering places that can only be reached by boat or on foot such as Porto Pidocchio and the village of San Fruttuoso

Our excursion begins in Camogli with a walk in the company of our guide who accompanies you to discover the historical traces of the Tonnarella present in this charming seaside village. At the end we will continue our excursion by taking a boat towards Punta Chiappa - San Fruttuoso. Upon return, if you wish (optional and for a fee), there will be a tasting in a restaurant with a spectacular view of the Golfo Paradiso

The first stop of the boat is Porto Pidocchio in Punta Chiappa. Here we will stop for an hour to listen to our guide who tells us everything about the Tonnarella also with the help of photographic material. At the end, we take the boat back to San Fruttuoso with a 15-minute navigation in the spectacular setting of the Portofino Marine Protected Area.

Once we get off in San Fruttuoso, a seaside village, inside the Portofino Marine Protected Area, reachable only by boat or on foot, we will reach the shed where the Tonnarella nets were built with a 10-minute walk in the Mediterranean scrub. The guide explains which materials were used and the process. The excursion ends with the return by boat to Camogli. For those who wish, it is included in the ticket, it is possible to stay in San Fruttuoso for a swim in the crystal clear waters, or have lunch in one of the restaurants on the beach, and then return with any boat that operates the line to Camogli
