Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

At the entrance of the Halikiopoulos lagoon is located one of the most famous sights of Corfu, but also of the whole of Europe, which is none other than the much-photographed Pontikonisi - Mouse Island. Its name impresses even after so many years of fame. The area of Kanoni and Mouse Island has been for centuries a source of inspiration for many artists while at the same time there has been a scene in major productions of Greek and foreign cinema.

Holy Monastery of Panagia Vlacherna

This picturesque church was built in the 17th century and around 1980 it was abandoned by the last monk who lived there. This is a very small religious church with a two-storey bell tower that "floats" on the footbridge.

2

Emperor Wilhelm the 2nd was attracted by Corfu Island.  Consequently he decided in 1907 to buy the Achilleion Palace from Princess Sissy of Austria and create it his residence on the island. As he actively assisted in the excavations of Agios Theodoros in Garitsa bay, there are many buildings and landmarks that bear his name, such as the beautiful Kaiser Bridge which was built for direct access from the Achilleion Palace to the beach which was partially destroyed during the Second World War

Shortly before his death, during 1914, he decided to leave a viewpoint as a unique gift for the locals and visitors to the island. That was his private observatory, where he found peace and enjoyed the amazing vista and breathtaking, surrounding beauty of oil-rich Corfu.

The Kaiser’s observatory or throne attracts visitors from all over the world for its stunning views and the detail that makes it stand out.

3

One of the most famous attractions of Corfu are the caves of Paleokastritsa, each of them has a mystery surrounding it. One of them is named Nausicaa, the name of the daughter of the king of Corfu who saved Odysseus the king of Ithaca as described by Homer in Greek mythology. Enjoy this unique experience with us and we can definitely tell you that this unique environment with its crystal clear waters will blow your mind.

An amazing boat experience with transparent turquoise crystal waters in Paleokastritsa awaits you. We will help you board the small boat to explore the central west coast which is full of rock formations and small caves. Travel with us to this legendary area where there is another surprise… due to the small size of the boat we will go inside the caves.

4

The church is of single aisled basilica rhythm with a wooden roof and it is considered a sample of the monastic architecture. A typical bell-tower of Ionian style is located in the courtyard. Priceless pictures of Byzantine and post-Byzantine period decorate the interior, while a sample of the wealth of the monastery one can also notice in the small museum that operates in its interior. In the museum of the Monastery of Palaiokastritsa you will also see a skeleton of a whale which is said to have killed a fisherman during the 19th century.

In the 19th century, during the British rule the monastery was used as a military hospital, while during the same period the road towards the Monastery of Palaiokastritsa was constructed.

5

The village of Lakones is literally "hung" on the edge of the cliff. The view from above is breathtaking and is probably the most beautiful on the whole island. The green color of the olives and the pines "embraces" the endless blue of the sea and the rocky coastline and the spectacle is more than shocking.

Almost all visitors to the island of Corfu visit this place to gaze at the unique view and take the most valuable photo of their lives.

6

At the heart of a Corfiot olive grove, we will meet the owners of a unique oil press that will happily inform us on the certain features of the Corfiot olives and olive oil as well as the unique olive variety, being cultivated on the island of Corfu, they will introduce us to the well-kept secrets of a good olive oil producer, and they will also talk about the socio-economic and historical role that olives play in the life of Corfiot’s. Finally, they will not forget to emphasize the healing properties of olive oil.

Our tour will be a throwback to the past, when oil producers used to use big, rotating stone wheels driven by animals to grind oils as well as we will see old pressers, containers for the storage of olive oil and a wide variety of original tools and vessels of that era.

Finally, we will have the chance of olive and olive oil tasting, accompanied by local products, while we will learn how to distinguish the special features of Corfiot olive oil like Corfiot’s do.

7

A pleasant walk through the historic center of Corfu, where three nations meet, connecting the East and the West.
The old town center of Corfu, belonging to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, constitutes a unique, world-famous site that never fails to captivate visitors.

The old town of Corfu boasts numerous impressive and world-famous sites, each having its own unique historical development: tall fortresses, considered to be unapproachable, which contributed to the defense of the island against potential conquerors and magnificent palaces, still maintaining their power and magnificence; museums of historic significance and great architecture, old mansions and colorful houses constructed with the Venetian style, famous cosmopolitan squares and magnificent churches, indicating the strong religious beliefs of Corfiot’s.
