Stop 1

Cairo Layover Tour Starts and Ends in Cairo Airport .GEM Explore Egyptologist will be waiting outside the arrival lounge(Not inside) as per requested pick up time to start your Journey across Cairo heading to the Great Pyramids of Giza where you will enjoy The pyramid of King Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, the tour will continue by vising the Valley Temple of Khafre, where is located the reception of the royal body of Khafre. The Valley Temple was built for the process of mummification of King Khafre. Finally, you will have a close-up look of the Great Sphinx, the guardian of the Pyramids with a body of a lion and the head of King Khafre. (please note that entering the pyramids from inside requires a special ticket, the guide will be happy to assist).

Stop 2

Khufu's pyramid is the only wonder of the ancient seven wonders still remains and standing today!! the highest building on earth for more than 3800 Years, the complex consists of a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman; diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found but the site has not been excavated yet, with your advanced Egyptologist you will be able to explore the entire area.

The Second highest pyramid in the complex is dedicated to king Chefren or Khafre, the entire complex is still in good condition so with your Egyptologist you will explore the valley temple and the causeway of king Khafre. The Smallest pyramid in Giza plateau, now it is about 61m high, Menkaure pyramid is very special because of the granite outer layer still remains on the lower part of the pyramid, the granite was quarried from Aswan over 1000 kilometers away from Giza !!!

With the same Entry Ticket to the pyramids area you will have a close-up look of the Great Sphinx, the guardian of the Pyramids with a body of a lion and a head of King Khafre. You will have all the time to take the pictures you want with an assistance from our representative.

After Lunch in pyramids view restaurant , you will start another journey through Cairo to one of the most religious places called Coptic Cairo. Coptic Cairo is apart from Old Cairo contains the Pabylon Fortress , Hanging Church , Greek Church of St. George , Saints Sergius and Bacchus and many Coptic churches around. It is believed in Christian tradition that the holy family stayed at the site of saints Sergius and Bacchus church to be a way from the roman army , with your guide you will know a lot more and learn about the Christianity in Egypt .

Around Fort Babylon, Egyptian Christians’ oldest churches were built. In addition to being the destination of pilgrimage for people of different religions all over the world, this area holds ruins of the Roman fortifications and over the roman towers we built one of the oldest churches the hanging Church.

The tour continues by visiting Church of St Sergius and Bacchus, Saints Sergius and Bacchus or The Cavern Church is traditionally believed to have been built on the spot where the Holy Family , Joseph, Mary and the infant Jesus Christ, rested at the end of their journey into Egypt. They may have lived here while Joseph worked at the fortress ,That is why the cavern church considered one of the oldest churches all over the world. The church is of significant historical importance, and in fact, it is where many patriarchs of the Coptic Church were elected.

The tour continues by visiting Ben Ezra Synagogue, The Ben Ezra Synagogue is situated in the Fustat part of Old Cairo, Egypt. According to local folklore, it is located on the site where baby Moses was found.
This was the synagogue whose geniza or store room was found in the 19th century to contain a treasure of forgotten, stored-away Hebrew, Aramaic and Judeo-Arabic secular and sacred manuscripts. Unfortunately the synagogue is closed for restoration ,the guide will explain it from outside.

The Church is dedicated for the Greek Orthodox and may be dates back to the 10th century , The Current structure is been rebuilt after1904 fire .

Then, the tour continues by visiting Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. The Bazaar is in the historic center of Cairo; It was established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era. The Bazaar has various products of all kind and shapes; not limited to Silver, Copper, Brassware, Gold and Leather Goods.

Nearby Khan Elkhalili, is located one of the most sacred Islamic sites in Egypt, this mosque is the reputed burial place of the head of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Mohammed. the mosque has been renovated recently.
