It is the largest necropolis of the Egyptian pharaohs. The tombs of the rulers of the new empire can be found in the Valley of the Kings. The valley is located in Thebes-West, opposite Karnak on the edge of the desert and is lined with high mountains.
Despite millennia of activity of excavations and looting, the Valley of the Kings still provides Egyptologists with numerous extremely valuable grave finds. In 1922, the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered largely intact by Howard Carter.
The first clearly identified tomb in the Valley of the Kings comes from the Pharaoh Thutmose I. With Napoleon's expedition to Egypt the systematic search and opening of tombs began. In the Valley of the Kings you will visit three selected tombs.

The statues are still around 18 meters high, including the base.

the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut dates from the 18th dynasty and is the best preserved temple in Thebes on the west bank of the Nile.
The entire temple complex was built from limestone. This temple was built within about 15 years, from the 7th to the 22nd year of Queen Hatshepsut's reign. The temple has its own idiosyncratic architecture.
