Detailed itinerary

1

From the past to the present, Christmas has been one of the most important days in the church year to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Going to a church during this season is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere. The altar and pedestals are decorated with lights, wreaths, and garlands, welcoming the visitors to celebrate the love of Jesus. Of course, on this tour, you will not miss the opportunity to experience the time-honored Christmas tradition of visiting a church.

2

The next stop on your Christmas Day tour is the Xinyi Shopping District. A number of department stores, malls, and high-end restaurants are located in this area. The window displays are lovely to behold during this festive season, which is always designed with fantastic winter themes.

3
Stop 3

Since you are in Xinyi Shopping District, it’s impossible to miss Taipei 101. The Taipei 101 Mall, which adjoins the skyscraper, is anchored by numerous luxury retailers, which not only satisfy your cravings for shopping, but also feast your eyes on their fascinating displays during the Christmas season. The pop-up art installation by the French fashion brand, Dior, has become a must-see for Christmas fanatics since 2018. It always brings the Christmas spirit to spice up your holiday, from a dazzling Christmas tree to a shining Star of Bethlehem.

If time permits, you may go to the observatory at your own expense to enjoy a panoramic view of Taipei, which costs about NTD 600 per person.

4

Shinkong Mitsukoshi Mall (Xinyi Place) is a high-end shopping mall in Taipei City. It's a popular destination year-round, but during Christmas, it transforms into a winter wonderland. The mall is beautifully decorated with festive lights, ornaments, and Christmas trees. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Christmas-themed activities, such as shopping for holiday gifts, dining at festive restaurants, and watching Christmas performances.

5

Your tour continues with a visit to the Bellavita Mall. Commonly known as "the mall for socialites,", this mall provides a luxurious shopping experience with exquisite wide open spaces and elegant interior design. If you are looking for something luxurious to reward yourself during your trip, you’ve come to the right place.

The most approachable and intriguing part of the mall is the Christmas display, which showcases a different winter scene yearly, such as a winter ski resort, glass igloos in Finland, etc., and never ceases to amaze everyone.

6
Stop 6

Although Christmas is celebrated grandly in Taiwan, most people still pray in the temple for a peaceful and joyful year ahead. After lunch (at your own expense), you will visit the oldest temple in Taipei, Lungshan Temple, which was built in 1738 and dedicated to Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy).

In Taiwan, the temples are usually decorated with colorful Koji ceramics, carved stone columns, and paintings that visualize Chinese gods and mythology. Through this tour, you will learn about the differences and similarities between two cultures by visiting a church and a temple.

7

Lastly, it’s time for the biggest highlight of your Christmas Instagram tour. Hold your excitement, it's only a 50-min drive to Christmasland in New Taipei City.

Christmasland in New Taipei City usually starts in mid November, which takes place in the Civic Plaza of New Taipei City and covers a huge area, making it one of the biggest Christmas markets in Asia. The enormous projection mapped Christmas Tree in the venue was recommended by Harper’s Bazaar as one of the 19 most amazing Christmas trees in the world.

Every year Christmasland in New Taipei City is held under a different theme such as Lego and Disney characters. With illuminated skywalks, life-size statues of cartoon characters, amusement rides and themed shops, it becomes a playground appeals to all ages. Whether you visit alone or with company, there are so many fun things to do, making your holiday memorable.

After that, you will head back to downtown Taipei around 20:20 and arrive in your hotel around 21:00.
