The Great Storm Talk and Tour was created as a partnership between Spooky Galveston and the Galveston County Museum. This Tour offers a historical look at the 1900 storm with the retelling of stories of those who endured the storm.
We will start by talking about the storm and taking guided tour of the 1900 Storm exhibit at the Galveston County Museum
We will explore this area as stories of personal accounts are told of things important to the story of the 1900 storm.
We will stop in several locations on the strand to show and tell stories of importance and relevance to the 1900 storm.
The Home of the Weather Bureau during the 1900 storm this building is vital to the story of the 1900 storm and is also our mid point for a break.
We will pass by the Opera House and talk about the impact the great Storm had on the arts in the city.
We will end the tour where we started at the Galveston County Museum.
We meet inside The Galveston County Museum which is located inside the Galveston County Court House.
