About this experience

We are the only company that offers an authentic night hike inside the Rainforest, at the base of the majestic Arenal Volcano. In addition, we are the only local company certified as Family & Kids Friendly, ideal for family enjoyment and suitable for all ages.

This experience takes place in a 100% natural environment, it is not a controlled environment. The animals live in complete freedom, so each walk is different and sightings may vary every night.

Accompanied by an expert naturalist guide, we will explore the trails of Mirador El Silencio.

During the tour we will look for frogs such as the hourglass, Blue Jeans and the iconic red-eyed frog. It is also possible to observe exotic insects, reptiles and snakes. With any luck, we can find mammals like sloths, possums or anteaters.

To enjoy this experience safely, it is essential to use closed shoe.

Get into one of Costa Rica’s most iconic forests with our La Fortuna Night Tour, an experience that begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. and invites you to discover the magic of the rainforest at the foot of the imposing Arenal Volcano.

During this guided walk you will learn about the geological history that shaped our country, the influence of volcanoes on the local ecosystem and the particularities of the climate of the area. As night falls, the jungle awakens and you can observe the incredible flora and nocturnal fauna of La Fortuna.

Among the animals we usually find fascinating amphibians and reptiles such as crystal frogs, tree frogs, rain frogs, wet forest toads and the great cane toad; in addition to snakes such as coral, muzzle, stone hand and the well-known velvet. It is also possible to observe mammals such as coati, armadillos, possums, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and squirrel monkeys.
