About this experience

With over 85 different merchants, the Cedros Design District is the hottest place in Solana Beach. From coffee, beer, and wine to photography, art, and woodworking, the Cedros Design District has something unique for everyone to enjoy.

We will introduce you to the rich history of Solana Beach, from the historical quonset huts reminiscent of WWII to the eclectic shops and galleries along the way. We want you to walk away from the tour with a new appreciation for all things artistic along the way.

Our tour includes a coffee or gelato from a locally owned and operated gelato shop that we can enjoy along the way!

We can also tailor the tour to your group's needs and desires. Don't you like gelato or coffee? We can get a beer at Pizza Port or Culture Brewing after! Our customers' experience and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we strive to do everything in our power to earn your 5-star review.

Detailed itinerary

1

We will make our first stop on the tour at the David Alan Collection, which holds San Diego's largest selection of custom wood slab tables, reclaimed wood furniture, petrified wood, modern furniture, & rare art & artifacts, mostly from South East Asia. We will get a mini presentation from their staff (or David Alan himself!) about their shop, history, and why they do what they do. With three levels, this is a must-see for everyone during and after the tour.

2

The Madison Gallery, located along the Art Alley, is right next to the famous Wonder Woman statue that protects Solana Beach. The Madison Gallery was founded in 2001 and features contemporary artists that are emerging, mid-career, and established artists while maintaining a high standard for the contemporary art being exhibited. Lorna York, Curator, will be able to tell us everything we need to know about their current featured artists, as well as answer any questions we may have about the currently displayed pieces.

3

Our next stop is the world renowned Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery. Chang is most well known for his contributions to ocean photography. With 37 covers for Surfing Magazine, it is no secret that Aaron Change is one of the best for capturing the raw and beautiful nature of our oceans, as well as the harmony that can be reached between wave and surfer. Voted Best San Diego Artist in 2022, Aaron’s long career is still growing.

4

Upon leaving our shop, we will enjoy a quick walk to Gelato 101 for a beverage or Gelato of your choosing on us! On our way, we will pass by The Lomas Brand, a cute boutique clothing company that is locally owned and operated. After the tour feel free to stop by for 10% off your purchase!
