Albino Eye Glacier Trekking
The adventure has a total distance of 19 km where we cross the Tierra Mayor valley (one of the largest wetlands), we cross the fantastic nothofagus forest, we visit the Esmeralda lagoon and also some beavers.
Depending on the season of the year we will find different scenarios.
During the summer we will be able to see incredible icebergs floating on the glacier, a product of the great retreat that it presents. During the winter we have the possibility of approaching the magnificent ice walls of the glacier front thanks to its frozen lagoon, an epic experience.
Undoubtedly, this trek is one of the most complete that you can do in Ushuaia. Adventure, the passage of glaciers in time and fantastic views are something that this proposal offers for those who have sufficient physical condition and are always looking for a challenge!

Our trekking begins 15 kilometers from the City of Ushuaia. The journey en route takes 15 minutes where we have a view of the wonderful Carbajal Valley, which has the most important peaks in the area and one of the largest wetlands.
During our journey along route 3 towards the beginning of the trekking we have a complete view of Cerro Cinco hermanos and the mythical Monte Olivia
Our trekking begins in the valley of Lobos, where the first dog sleds were located in Ushuaia.
We cross the Tierra Mayor valley, a very important wetland where we have a panoramic point of the Sierra Alvear with the most prominent peaks, a preferred point for panoramic photos
After walking 4.5 km we find ourselves in the Esmeralda Lagoon, one of the most visited and possibly the most attractive around Ushuaia...
At the beginning of the trail, the dominant vegetation is the lenga forest, a tree native to the area. The tour continues through sectors where foliage and peat bogs alternate, until reaching a high mountain environment, whose average height is 600 meters above sea level. Once you reach the lagoon, you can appreciate the majestic environment of forest and snowy peaks that surround it. The greenish coloration of its waters is due to the sediment from the Ojo del Albino Glacier
