Detailed itinerary

After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

Enjoy a brief visit to the stunning red rocks of Sedona! After a photo stop at Bell Rock, you'll have approximately 30 minutes in Uptown to enjoy the shops and galleries while surrounded by the beautiful views. You'll also experience the scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon!

Stop 3

You’ll experience approximately 2.5 hours within the National Park marveling at the beauty that is the Grand Canyon. You will be driven to viewpoints as well as have free time to walk to various viewpoints and points of interest. Visit the historic El Tovar Lodge, Hopi House, Mather Point or Yavapai Point (these viewpoints are subject to change), the Geology Museum and more incredible viewpoints! While at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, you will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited number of photographs, or enjoy lunch (own expense) and relax with the best seat in the house.

Wheelchairs and walkers are acceptable as long as they fold up and can be slid into the vehicle. You must let the supplier know if you are bringing either.
We do not guarantee pickup for all hotels. Even if your hotel is on the list, there may be a chance you'll need to meet at an alternate location. Any guest staying outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe will be required to meet at an alternate location to be determined by supplier. The Grand Canyon South Rim is a 7,000 foot elevation, please note this if you have concerns about altitude.

2. You must contact DETOURS American West, the local tour operator, regarding your pick up location AT LEAST ONE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR DATE at 1-480-633-9013. Your pick up time will be between 6-7am, however, DETOURS will EMAIL you the afternoon before your tour with an exact pick up time.

3. Hotel pick up is not guaranteed, even if you are staying at a hotel within the pick up zone. There IS a chance you will have to meet at another location for pick up. You are responsible for getting yourself to the pick up location.

4. Arizona state law requires children under 8 years to have either a child seat or booster. Child seats are not provided, please bring your own.

5. You must cancel/reschedule outside 24 hours prior to the tour date in order to receive a refund/reschedule. No exceptions made for canceled flights or illness.
