Detailed itinerary

Stop 1 Pass by

We start our tour early in the morning from Athens till Meteora. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel/ apartment or the airport/ port. The travel time is about 4,5 hours.

Stop 2

The Meteora is a rock formation and a World Heritage site, hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries.

The Holy Monastery of Varlaam is the second biggest monastery of Meteora. Located very close to Great Meteoro Monastery, it was founded in the mid 14th century by a monk named Varlaam.
Varlaam managed to climb on the cliff around 1350 and followed by a few other monks he was able to establish the monastery. Decades later in the early 15th century, after Varlaam died, the cliff was abandoned by the rest of the monks. The 14th-century chapel built by him and dedicated to the “Three Hierarchs” was almost turned into ruins.

The Monastery of the Holy Trinity Meteora Greece (Agia Triada in Greek) is one of the most famous Greek monasteries. Like most monasteries in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Meteora, the monastery of the Holy Trinity is a structure carved into a rocky precipice.

After 4h driving from Athens, Stop at The Battle of Thermopylae monument that was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states, led by King Leonidas of Sparta, and the Persian Empire of Xerxes I.

Monument to King Leonidas and 300 Spartans standing at the entrance to the Thermopylae Gorge. It was built in 1955. It depicts the figure of a king dressed in a warrior costume, with a shield and a spear. Next to it are personifications of Tajget - the highest peak of the Peloponnese and the Evrotas River. The monument commemorates the heroic defense of the gorge, which was made by the Spartans in 480 BC.
