After breakfast we leave for the majestic “SINK CANYON”.
We will take a boat to sail 2 hours of tour, over the Grijalva River, where you will observe walls formed of limestone that reach altitudes of up to 1,000 meters, water falls that feed the Grijalva, which is one of the most flowing rivers in the country. Among these natural formations you will see: “The Christmas Tree”, “The Cave of the Virgin” and the “Symbol of Chiapas”.
At the end of our tour of the “Canyon del Sumidero”, we will move to the Magic Town of CHIAPA DE CORZO, founded in 1528 by Captain Diego de Mazariegos. In this charming village you can admire “La Fuente Colonial” with its authentic Mudéjar design.
In addition to sampling its exquisite Chiapaneca cuisine, you will enjoy walking through the center of this magical town where you will find beautiful embroidery, which can be seen in the colorful regional costumes of Chiapaneca and that of “Parachico”, as well as crafts and shiny pieces of lacquer.
At the end of our visit to the magical town of Chiapa de Corzo we will move, 1 hour away, along the Tuxtla – San Cristobal highway where we will ascend to 2,300 meters above sea level, until we reach the most magical town in Mexico, SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS.
