This amazing tour will take you to the Škocjan Caves system, located in the picturesque Karst Region and on a Panoramic tour along the Slovenian coast. This combined tour is a unique opportunity to explore the Škocjan Caves, which are a unique natural phenomenon, created by the river Reka and visit Medieval Piran as well.
At the caves you will see the biggest underground canyon in the world. The Škocjan Caves are on UNESCO’s list of natural and cultural world heritage sites. The tour will take you through the underground bridge where you will cross the river over 40 m. The cave temperature is 12°C and the tour inside takes around 2 hours.
After some free time outside the tour continues with a ride back to Koper and then further to south following Slovenia’s precious Adriatic coastline, a strip of land only 27 miles long, wedged between Italy and Croatia.
Upon reaching Piran, a spectacularly scenic village on the tip of a thin peninsula, you will enjoy a short walking tour and some free time to wander its narrow, atmospheric streets. Much of the architecture is 15th-century Venetian Gothic, lending the village a wonderfully medieval feel. A statue of Guissepe Tartini stands in the marbled main square, a tribute to the 18th-century Piran-born violinist and composer. Elsewhere you will see historical churches, inviting cafés and the picture-perfect port to explore, before returning to Koper.
