About this experience

Napo is an Ecuadorian province, located at the eastern side of the country. Its capital is Tena. The province contains the majestic Napo River, which is one of the main affluents of the Amazonas. The thick rainforest is home to many natives that remain isolated by preference: descendants of those who avoid the Spanish invasion in the Andes and the Inca’s years before. Tena, the capital, is known as the Cinnamon capital of Ecuador, originally founded by missionary explorers and is located at 420m above sea level with a temperature between 25˚C and 32˚C (77˚F – 89˚F). Tena is famous for the rainforest and the rivers that surround it. It has some of the best rafting and kayaking activities in Ecuador. The lodge of this program is located 20 minutes away by public or private transportation from Tena city, making it very easy to access and it is on the banks of the huge Napo river.
