Kuang Si or Kouang Si Waterfall is one of the highlights of Luang Prabang. A single large cascade tumbles from the jungle feeding a series of falls and pools that make perfect swimming holes. We visit the Phosi Market with its array of offerings including dried buffalo skin, local tea, saltpeter and hill-tribe weaving as well as vegetables and livestock. Laos is known for its traditional crafts, and today we visit the ethnic villages of Ban Ouay, (Hmong), Ban Ou (Lowland Lao) and Ban Thapene (Khmu).

Stop 2

Escape the city for a day in the Lao countryside on this private full-day tour from Luang Prabang. Take part in a traditional alms giving ceremony (optional), browse the stalls at the lively Phosi Market, then immerse yourself in Lao culture as you visit typical Hmong, Lao and Khmu villages. After lunch (included), enjoy a short hike through the rainforest, cool off with a swim beneath the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall and observe black bears at the Tat Kuang Si Bear Sanctuary.

After Kuangsi water we visit the Bear Sanctuary.

We return to Luang Prabang by afternoon and continue to Ban Phanom, a well-known weaving village before returning to the city by late evening to watch the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.
