Martha Brae River Rafting is one of the island’s best rafting attraction which is located 10 minutes from the town of Falmouth in Trelawny. This adventure begins at “Rafter’s Village”, which sits on a natural horseshoe island featuring a recreational facility with a bar and souvenir shops. Before embarking on the tour, guests can visit “Miss Martha’s Herb Garden”, a presentation of Jamaica’s herbs renowned for their medicinal and healing properties.
Established in 1970, Rafting on the Martha Brae boasts a complement of eighty-five licensed and experienced raft captains. Guests board 30-foot bamboo rafts under the supervision of a licensed dispatcher. The raft ride lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes is operated over a three-mile stretch of the beautiful Martha Brae river. As you glide down the river, learn about “The Legend of the Martha Brae” and even try your hand at poling the raft.
