Detailed itinerary

We shall leave Tbilisi morning at 9.00 am for Borjomi and after 1 hour driving we arrive in Samtavisi Cathedral around at 10.00 am. This is a mediavel Church with renaissance time unique Archicture and frescoes. We stay around half an hour here after that we continue travel to Borjomi.

We arrive in Borjomi around 11.30 am. In Borjomi we shall visit Borjomi National Park, Central Park we you can walk and drink mineral water from the sourse. After that you can ride the quads or swim in mineral water pools in Borjomi forest reserve if you would like.

Borjomi sulfur pools are located in Borjomi National Park. You can reach to the pools from Sadgeri village around half km downhill, or from Borjomi Central Park after trekking of 3-4 km. If you can't walk so much you can hire a local jeep or quad for off-road driving, that is extra cost, negotiable with the local driving about time, how long you would like to stay at the pool or drive off-road. it may cost from 150-200 GEL per quad or jeep. Entrance to mineral water pools is 10 GEL.

After finishing walking in Borjomi National Park, we can visit village Tsemi, that has scenic views.

Second day we start tour from Borjomi around 9-10 am. After one hour driving from Borjomi we arrive in Gori city. This is an administrative center of central Georgian region with a mediavel time fortress. We can walk in Gori city and visit Stalin museum if you would like. Totally we can stay 1 hour in Gori city.

After visiting and having lunch in Gori we can visit Cave Town Uplistikhe which is a antique time rock cut city on the hill near Mtkvari River, in 15 minutes driving from Gori. We have to walk and hike in the caves, so have the shoues for hiking. This was a fortress and city together many centuries where people were living and protecting themslves from the enemies by the wall, hills and river around the city-fortress. It is a nice place for the photos also. Entrence fees in the museum is not included in the tours price. Now it costs 15GEL per person, adults only. After visiting Uplistikhe cave city we can have a rest and lunch in Gori or leave for Mtskheta.

On our way back, after one hour driving we can visit also Mtskheta old capital, if we have a time. We have to walk around 1 hour in Mtskheta. Mtskheta was an old capital of Eastern Georgia Iberia Kingdom before Tbilisi foundation. Mtskheta is UNESCO protected site. There is a mediavel and renaissance time Cathedral Svetitskhoveli in Mtskheta. Svetitskhoveli is a place of holy reclits and famous Eastern Georgian kings barrial place. It has interesting architectural construction, history, frescoes and Georgian symbolics.
